A sled can be pushed, pulled, or dragged, with an option to add extra weight for resistance depending on your fitness level.

No Eccentric Loading: When lifting weights or working out in general, the eccentric portion of a movement is the action required when lowering the weight. This eccentric part of the exercise is what causes the most muscle damage and overall muscle soreness. The sled gets rid of the eccentric portion and just focuses on the concentric portion of exercising, preventing and reducing injuries.

Low Impact: Sled workouts are an optimal form of cardio conditioning because it is very low impact and reduces stress on your joints.
